It can't 'work' without you having that previous content. The last 'update' also 'updated' house of wolves content to current light levels. The Taken King (for example) links events from the Dark Below in its story and some of the missions use areas from the base game (expanded on) and some from the 2 previous expansions.
Some of the content re-uses content from previous expansions, areas that became available as well as building new areas.
These have no real baring on the main game in any way.Įach of Destiny's packs built onto the existing game and essentially build up on that. Fri 10th Jun Both 'Blood and Wine' and 'Far Harbour' are more like side quests, separate from the main game.
